Northeast Wisconsin Tech Structural Failure Repair

Most rehabilitation projects require that the repair methods and products result in a structural repair. Our primary goal is to ensure that the structural integrity of the member of building remains in tact. In many cases, the load capacity of the repaired member is stronger than the original design, similar to a broken bone being stronger as a result of the healing process. Proper diagnosis, analysis, repair design, material selection, application method, equipment and skilled technicians are all part of the basics for successfully completing a structural repair project. Truesdell Corporation remains a leader in the industry for concrete repair, restoration, strengthening, protection and maintenance.

The Problem:

  • Structural Failure
  • Six Separate Buildings Approaching Failure

The Solution:

  • Truesdell Corporation
  • Transfer to Shoring
  • Dowel/Form/Form Infill
  • Utility Relocation
  • External Fiber Reinforced Polymer

Sometimes a structure is damaged enough that it would be unsafe to wait for repairs to be completed.  In these cases, shoring is installed immediately to avoid any further damage to the structure, avoid any further movement and avoid liability due to falling concrete or even collapse.   Truesdell Corporation is adept at securing shoring designs and installing shoring as necessary to protect both the structure and the owner.

Sika Corporation is the provider of Carbodur carbon fiber systems. Whether in fabric form or pultruded carbon fiber reinforced (CFRP) laminate (as shown in the photo), this system is effective in addressing strengthening, flexural, shear and confinement issues on beams, walls, columns, pipes, tunnels, silos, tanks, chimneys and slabs. For more information you can go to www.sikausa.com. The pre-saturated laminates reduce the possibility of contractor error and simplify the entire process. The project displayed involved the change in use of an old warehouse to a new microbrewery. Additional strengthening was required for the upper level to carry the added load of large vats.
